Welcome! We are so happy you’ve decided to join us!
Joining
– We’ve shifted to online payments/registration due to changing times
– All info and membership forms are available here
Bib Collection:
– Arrive at beach by 8.45 am to collect your competition bib
– Upon arrival, head to the registration area, where you’ll collect your bib. Your bib is your identification during the season and must be worn visibly on the front of your shirt.
– If your bib is not visible when crossing the finish line, no time will be awarded that week, no exceptions
Suggested START times for first run:
1K 15mins
3K 10 mins
6K 5 mins
Finishing Number
– When crossing the finish line, one of the Club’s volunteers will hand you a finish number. This number corresponds to your finishing position and allows us to record your time accurately.
– Once you receive your finishing number, you need to head up to our friendly scribes to record all your info and return the number.
Behind recorders signs indicating which line you need to join with your number
The scribe will record your bib number next to the finish number, then ask the distance you ran (1K, 3K or 6K) and your start time (which is the time called out by the timekeeper when you leave the starting line).
Now it gets a bit trickier; you will be asked if this was your correct ‘handicap time’ to which your answer will be “NO” as today was a time trial.”
N.B. Please ensure you are precise when communicating and they have written down the correct information.
The following week when you arrive, head for the ‘Handicaps stand’ and look for the correct distance, find your name (first name alphabetically) and the time shown is your handicap time which is the time you leave the starting line.
This time when asked by scribe re correct time, it mostly and hopefully will be a YES.
Important to check the handicap board each week as it can change (often does), and you can miss out on points by not leaving on the correct handicap.
Lucky Draws:
– Your finish number goes into the draw. We have 3 lucky draws each week, the prize being $20. Ensure you hang around after the run, or you will miss out.
Point Scoring System:
– Our club uses a point-scoring system to encourage participation and recognise achievements. Points are awarded based on your performance each week
– These points contribute to your overall standing for the season and monthly prizes
Trophies/Cash:
– Each month and at the end of each season, we celebrate the accomplishments of our members with trophy/cash presentations.
– Read more about that here
