Points and Prizes

Points
The first, second, third and fourth place getters in each age group are awarded 20, 15, 10 and 8 points, respectively.

Anyone else who ran, whether they came fifth or more, or started before their handicap or were doing a time trial (first run at the distance) gets 5 points.

Monthly Prizes

The points you are awarded accumulate during each four week period. The highest point scorer in each age group is eligible for a trophy or cash (depending what you chose on your membership form) provided they have a monthly score of 30 points or over.

If you don’t win a prize don’t worry because a winner can’t win again during the year. Meaning everyone else has a chance in subsequent four weekly periods.

Annual Prizes
Just because you have won a prize though it is no reason to stop trying because there are also annual prizes for each age group according to points accumulated throughout the year.

Annual Prizes are normally awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each age category.

To be eligible for a prize at the end of the season you must have 100 points or more.

N.B For the yearly points total you get 5 points toward the total of your best distance for weeks where you ran a different distance. So, for example, if you ran ten times at 3K and have 120 points amassed but you also felt lazy two weeks and only did a 1K you would get ten extra points (two weeks at 5 points each) toward your 3K yearly total. By the way this doesn’t happen for the monthly scores.
